Rossland Recreation Bursary Application

Each applicant is eligible for the cost of a recreation-based course or program, each calendar year, to a maximum of $200. Funds are disbursed by the Recreation Department, directly to the organization offering the course or program.

Funds are limited, applicants are encouraged to contact the Recreation Department to confirm the bursary is available prior to applying.

Applications are assessed based on the most up-to-date Low Income Measure (LIM) assessment of need as provided by Statistics Canada:
 

• Persons not in economic families: household income under $25,153
• 2 person family: household income under $35,572
• 3 person family: household income under $43,566
• 4 person family: household income under $50,306
• 5 person family: household income under $56,244
• 6 person family: household income under $61,612
• 7 person family: household income under $66,549
• 8 person family: household income under $71,143

Proof of income must accompany the application and can be in the form of annual tax statement.

Applications will be reviewed by the Manager of Recreation and Events to evaluate eligibility. Applicants must allow up to two weeks for approval from when the City receives their application. The City will notify applicants if their application has been approved.

The program or course must be a recreation-based activity by a Rossland based organization, or a Lower Columbia regional program including the community of Rossland. If a program is cancelled due to low registration, the funds can be transferred to another recreation related program.
