Sussanne Skidmore was elected president of the BC Federation of Labour (BCFED) in 2022 after serving as the federation's secretary-treasurer in 2018 and 2020. A well-known human rights, social justice, and queer rights activist, she served as executive vice-president of BC General Employees Union for five years. She has co-chaired the BCFED’s Human Rights committee and is active in the federation’s Women and Gender Rights committee. The BCFED represents more than 500,000 members from affiliated unions across the province, working in every aspect of the BC economy.
