Ag Adventures - The Pencil Patch Volunteer Sign-Up

Sign up for Volunteering with Ag Adventures at The Pencil Patch in Abbotsford (1786 Angus Campbell Rd, Abbotsford, BC V3G 2E2)
Ag Adventures provide opportunities for students in K-12 classrooms to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and get their hands dirty in the soil - all while learning about BC’s agriculture and food story!   At The Pencil Patch, students will learn about food production - how the garden grows food and gets that food to people - the community - so they can enjoy fresh, locally grown produce. 

School Tours
Tours run 10-12:30pm.  Volunteers are required to arrive 30 min ahead of the group (9:30am) to help set-up and stay 30 min after to take down after each tour. (ie. tents,  stock hand washing station, set up educational stations, general clean-up etc).  
During the tours, volunteers assist the school groups, facilitating questions. explaining educational stations and helping supervise to ensure children do not go out of bounds. 

Camps
Camps run 8:30am to 4:30pm. Volunteers are asked to be there 30 min before (8am) to help with arrivals.  Volunteers can sign up for either the morning (8-12 noon) or afternoon (12pm-4pm) sessions or both. During the camps, volunteers provide supervistion and assist the children with questions and facilitate/help with different activities (crafts, sports etc)
