Carnarvon Park Master Plan Refresh

The District is pursuing a comprehensive conceptual design study for replacement of the field house, along with a refresh of the 2018 Carnarvon Park Master Plan. 

The objectives for the project are: 

• In consultation with municipal staff, the Parks, Recreation & Culture Advisory Committee, Oak Bay Council, stakeholder groups and the community, develop a plan for the re-development of the field house that includes: 
  • Potential replacement of the existing building with similar sized building; 
  • Potential replacement of the existing building with a larger pavilion with community rooms; 
  • Potential for inclusion of childcare space, and 
  • Potential for inclusion of rental housing. 
• Incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives to lessen the facility’s impact on the environment.  
• Incorporate accessibility considerations to ensure amenities and facilities are available for all ages and abilities.  
• Provide Class D construction budget estimates to enable the District to pursue capital improvements.
