JOB APPLICATION: Research Assistant (Youth Research Academy)

Summary

​- Eight positions are available to youth ages 16–24 with government care experience. 
- Youth must live in BC and be able to work in Canada.
- Hours of work are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00–4:30PM with occasional work outside of these hours.
- Pay is $16.50 per hour.
- Positions are available from June 30th 2021 until March 2022.
- Online training will be provided.

With support from McCreary staff you will work on youth health research projects focused on youth in and from government care. Upcoming YRA projects include, but are not limited to, analyzing survey data from youth in care and sharing the findings (including topics such as mental health, vaping, and transitioning out of care); and facilitating workshops.

There is a possibility of ongoing positions and project work. For example, Indigenous youth researchers may have the opportunity to work on a research project supporting urban Indigenous youth, and LGBTQ2S+ youth may have the opportunity to facilitate healthy relationships workshops with LGBTQ2S+ youth.​

Qualifications/requirements
- Interest in community research
- Interest in youth health issues
- Able to work virtually, both independently and as part of a team
- Able to work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00–4:30PM
- No previous research or work experience needed
