Family Support Services (FSS) Education 

Welcome to the registration page for our FREE education sessions.    

Please register if you are a family member or friend who is supporting an adult living with a mental health and/or substance use concern.   

Currently, we are offering all of our education sessions virtually using ZOOM. If you do not have access to a computer or WiFi, you can still join by calling in on your telephone. 

To register:
1.  Complete the registration form.
2.  Check the box beside each session you would like to take.
3.  Click on the submit button at the bottom of the page.

A member of our team will contact you to confirm your registration within 5 business days.

Thought disorders: You will learn about different thought disorders (schizophrenia; schizo-affective, psychosis).  We will explain diagnosis, medications, and treatment options. 

Substance use: Through 2 evening sessions, you will learn about the most common substances used by adults, concurrent disorders (substance use and mental illness), medication, treatment options, and an overview of services offered by Fraser Health and by Community Partners.  We will also discuss the impact substance use has on families and friends.  NOTE: When registering for this session there are 2 dates to attend

Observing your limits: Do you at times say YES, when you really want to say NO? Join us for 3 sessions to learn about how to set, stand with, and communicate your limits in your relationships.  NOTE: When registering for this session there are 3 dates to attend
Let's talk about psychiatric medicationsDo you have questions about the different medications prescribed to treat and manage mental health and substance use concerns?  Please join us for an open discussion with the Fraser Health, Community/PTOP Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Dr. Debbie Thompson, BScPharm, PharmD, BCPP.  If you have a question you would like answered, please write it in the space provided above.

As families/friends who are receiving services through Fraser Health FSS, you have been invited to register online for free education sessions, administered by the FSS team. Your personal information collected by Fraser Health is subject to protections under the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).To participate in this online registration process, you are being asked to consent to enter the following information for use by Fraser Health:
-Your name, phone number and email  
Access to entered information is limited to Fraser Health FSS clinical counsellors, program coordinator and the FSS family peer support worker.  The online registration form will be maintained by FSS staff. No others within Fraser Health will have access to the information provided.   At no point in time will your information be disclosed for purposes other than for registering for the FSS education Ssession(s).   
Simple Survey
The information you choose to provide will be stored by Simple Survey, a Canadian company. Once the names/phone numbers and emails have been collected for registration purposes, the electronic version of the information will be deleted from the Simple Survey database.   Participation in the online registration process is voluntary. There will be no consequences to you if you choose not to use this online registration process. You can register in person by calling 1-833-898-6200.  Questions about your information and this online registration initiative may be directed to any FSS staff.
