Savary Island Community Plan

The qathet Regional District is forming an Advisory Committee to provide the Savary Island Community Plan project team with diverse demographics and community perspectives for the Community Plan project.

We anticipate holding three to five virtual Advisory Committee meetings from November 2024 to July/August 2025.

Advisory Committee Roles & Responsibilities:

• Review and provide general guidance on background information, draft materials, outreach activities and materials, and draft plan sections.
• Provide feedback on draft Community Plan goals, objectives, policies, and implementation strategies.
• Assist qRD staff and project team in identifying and evaluating potential alternatives to address key community issues and opportunities.
• Provide feedback on Community Plan document structure and format to ensure usability.
• Participate in community engagement activities when available.
• Assist in identifying and connecting the project team with key interest groups.
• Help inform the community about the Community Plan review process and encourage participation by diverse community members.
