The purpose of this project is to review and update the 2006 Savary Island Community Plan to provide a refreshed vision, goals, objectives, and policies that reflect current values and needs of the community.
An Official Community Plan (OCP) sets out a long-term vision for a community and establishes community goals and policies for achieving that vision. An OCP provides a policy framework to guide land use and development decision-making of the regional district, other government agencies, and landowners. The current Savary Island OCP is almost 20 years old and is due for an update.
We've listened to your feedback and updated the Vision and Goals. We've also put together a Background Report that summarizes key trends, information, and recommendations from related reports and studies.
Based on what we've heard so far, we've prepared a Key Directions Discussion Book containing information briefs on some of the main themes that have emerged throughout the process. These briefs are meant to stimulate discussion on key directions to help guide the development of the Draft Community Plan.
